Albert C. “Al” Bodenhamer, age 60 of Zumbrota died on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the Red Wing Health Center. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wanamingo with Pastor Christopher Culuris officiating. Family burial service will be in Macomb, IL. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home – Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and on Monday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Albert Cloyd Bodenhamer was born on May 16, 1958 in Macomb, IL to Larry and Estelene (Black) Bodenhamer. He grew up in Macomb and graduated from Macomb High School in 1976. Albert enrolled at Western Illinois University and received his Bachelor of Science degree in education and furthered his education by earning his Master’s Degree in History several years later. Albert worked in retail management before he became an insurance agent. On July 31, 2010 he married Susan V. Goodman at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wanamingo. They made their home in Lakeville for a short time before moving to Randolph and later to Zumbrota. Albert worked mainly for Farm Bureau and his last job was working for his friend Julie at Haggerty Insurance in Hastings. Albert enjoyed reading, researching historical figures, going to the movies and spending time with Susan and playing with animals.
Albert is survived by his wife, Susan; mother, Estelene Bodenhamer of Macomb, IL and sister, Fayla Bodenhamer of Monmouth, IL.
Albert was preceded in death by his father, Larry Bodenhamer, uncle, Larry Bland; cousin, Carolyn Miller; maternal and paternal grandparents, aunts and uncles.
