Obituary for Edward H. Aerts
Edward H. Aerts, age 90, of Manteno, passed away Friday, October 12, 2018 at the Illinois Veterans Home at Manteno.
He was born December 4, 1927 in Chicago, the son of Edward G. & Margaret C. Verbauen Aerts.
Edward married Patricia J. Michelson on June 23, 1950 at St. Ferdinand Church in Chicago. She preceded him in death on January 17, 2009.
Edward had been a plumbing engineer for MJ Corboy.
He was a member of the Manteno Golf Club and loved fishing.
Edward was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served April 1946 - April 1947 in the Pacific Theatre of WWII.
He was of the Catholic Faith.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy & Donald Gignac of Manteno; one daughter-in-law, Mary Aerts of Elk Grove; one sister, Patricia Aerts of Minneapolis, MN; and two grandchildren, Jordan Gignac and Jessica Gignac, both of Manteno.
In addition to his wife, Edward is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Brian Aerts; and one brother, Robert Aerts.
Cremation Rites have been accorded.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Manteno. Rev. Lance Hurley will officiate the service.
Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or ALS Association.
