Rex was first married to #1 Grace Evalyn Weeksbon July 10th, 1912 in Kane Co., IL. The marriage was short lived- ending in divorce. Grace remarried to Robert Hollarbrush.
In the 1930’s (no record found) Rex married for a second time to #2 Wilda née Blanchard, widow of Edward Warner Howard. The couple were living in St Charles, IL at the time of the 1940 census.

Funeral Services for Rex E. Wells, 83, of 506 South 6th, Ave. will be held at Yurs Funeral Home on Thursday at 2pm with Rev. Edwin Remaly of the St. Charles Congregational Church officiating.
Friends may call at the Yurs Funeral Home at Wednesday at 2pm. The Masonic Services will be read at 8pm on Wednesday night.
Mr. Wells died on Tuesday afternoon at the Delnor Hospital.
He was born on February 16, 1887 in Libertyville.
Until his retirement on January 1st of this year, Mr. Wells was associated with the Duncan Parking Meter Company of Elk Grove.
Mr. Wells was a member of the St. Charles Congregational Church, a 50yr member of the Unity Lodge A.F.& A.M. No. 48, the Fox Valley Shriners Club, and the Elks Lodge 737 of Elgin. He had served the city of St. Charles as a chairman and member of the Planning Commission and was a member of the Fox Valley Area Safety Council of the Chicago Motor Club.
Survivors are his wife, Wilda B. two brothers: Worden Y. Wells of Elgin and Edward Wells of Lake Forest, a sister Mrs. Warren Nicholas of Libertyville, one niece and five nephews.
