She was born near Alexis, the daughter of George and Hattie Cravens Adcock.
She married Lawrence E. Vance on Jan. 7, 1930, in Galesburg. He died March 2, 1968.
Surviving are two sons, two daughters, 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Caroline Humphrey, eight brothers and three sisters.
She worked at the former Hotel Custer, Steak and Shake Restaurant and Danner's Fremont House Bakery.
She attended Prairieland Baptist Church.
Her hobbies included playing bingo and tending her flower garden.
