William D. Hasting, 21, Alexis, died in Monmouth hospital at 10:30 p. m. Wednesday, January 15, following a year's illness.

Born April 20, 1936, in Alexis, he was the son of Harold and Alice (Sharp) Hasting. He was one of a family of six children, and had spent all of his life in Alexis.

On June 20, 1955, he married Jacqueline Wixon in Monmouth. She survives with one of their two children, William Dale. An infant daughter Kathy Ann preceded her father in death.

Also surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hasting of Alexis; one sister, Mrs. Betty Roundtree of Sacramento California, and four brothers, Leonard, DeWayne, Franklin, and Ronnie, all of Alexis.

He spent two years in service at San Diego, California.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the McKnight Memorial Home. Reverend I. G. Roederer, of the Alexis E. U. B. church, officiated.

Mrs. Alvin Williams sang "The Old Rugged Cross," and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus," accompanied by Mrs. Theodore McKnight.

Burial was made in the Alexis cemetery, with the following serving as pall bearers: Peter Boggs, Daniel Wheeler, Ralph Thompson, Roy Thompson, Merlin Skees, and Clarence Peterson.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday for William D. Hastings, 21, of Alexis, who died Wednesday night, January 15, 1958, in Monmouth hospital, after a year's illness.

The funeral was held at 2:30 p. m., in the McKnight Funeral home, [in] Alexis [Illinois], with Reverend I. G. Roederer, pastor of the Evangelical United Brethren church, officiating. Burial was made in Alexis cemetery.

Mr. Hastings was born April 20, 1936, in Alexis, a son of Harold and Alice (Sharp) Hastings. He attended Alexis schools, and spent two years in the service, being stationed in San Diego.
