Born on August 21, 1926 in Crystal Lake, she was the eldest of four children born to Warren C. and Erma E (Bristol) Turner.
She met her future husband, Alister “Al” Bellerud at Weather Forecasts, Inc. where she was employed as a secretary in 1946. From 1965 through 1976, she served as Parish Secretary at Bethany Lutheran Church. She retired in 1982 after working as receptionist/secretary at Checker Die & Engineering since 1977.
Mrs. Bellerud was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Crystal Lake and was active in Friendship Guild and Club 60 at the church. She treasured time spent with her late husband during their extensive travels, and time spent with relatives and friends. Needlepoint and music were favorite pastimes.
Survivors include her two children, daughter Lynn (Bellerud) Schaffer of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and son James (Kay) Bellerud of Paris, Illinois; grandchildren, Neal (Elizabeth) Schaffer, Todd Schaffer, Ryan Schaffer, Jenny Bellerud (Joseph) McMahan, and Benjamin (Amanda) Bellerud; great grandchildren, Grace, Solveig, and Martin Schaffer, Will and Drew McMahan and Miles, Jordan and Ryan Bellerud; sister, Lois Kretschmer of Rockford, IL; brother, Warren F. (Virginia) Turner of Colorado; and brother-in-law, Harold Hawes of Rockford, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews and their families whom she dearly loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Alister, and sister, Sharon Hawes.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018, from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake. Interment will be held at Windridge Cemetery, 7014 S. Rawson Bridge Road, Cary, immediately following services.
