Jacob (Jakob) Andor, my grandfather, was born to Jakob and Juliana (Krug) Andor in Deutschbentschek, Hungary. He came to America in 1903 on the ship The Vaderland. He originally settled in St. Louis, MO but also lived in Michigan before moving to North Dakota. Living in North Dakota proved to be very challenging with the harsh winters, etc. so he moved his family to Washington state about 1937. He was a police officer for the city of St. John. He married Anna Luffy in St. Louis, Mo in 1904. After her death in 1929 he remarried Mary Moug. Jacob and Anna had 11 children of which 7 lived to adulthood.
