HENRY JOHNSON PASSES

Word was received here of the death of Henry Johnson of Waterloo, who passed away in an Omaha hospital Saturday evening after a short illness. Mr. Johnson was well-known in this vicinity, he being a brother of Mrs. H. C. Blaco. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel C. Johnson, Waterloo, former superintendent of Douglas County schools, who died Sunday, will be held Wednesday at 9:45 a.m. from Crosby-Carlson-Meyer mortuary to St. Patrick's church, Elkhorn, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Calvary cemetery, Elkhorn. The rosary will be recited tonight at 8 at the mortuary.

Mrs Mabel Johnson of Waterloo Dies
Mrs Mabel C. Johnson, 56, of Waterloo, former superintendent of Douglas county schools, died Sunday at an Omaha hospital after an illness of several months.
She was elected county superintendent in 1918 serving the first four-year term after elections were shifted from the old two-year basis. Retiring in 1922 she taught for several years in Cheyenne county, returning to take the upper room in the District 24 school south of Waterloo, which has recently been surrounded by the Two Rivers farmstead project. She taught there several months this school year.

She is survived by a daughter, Adele Johnson of Omaha; son, George, Valley, Neb.; brothers, Lunn and Walter Hanger of Waterloo, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services: Wednesday, 9:15 a.m. from Crosby-Carlson-Meyer mortuary, to St.Patrick's church, Elkhorn, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Calvary cemetery, Elkhorn.

Note : Mable Hanger Father is John Hanger and her Mother is Mary Keefe.
