He was born March 3, 1919, in Bowen, Illinois to Ross and Minnie (Reed) Bisby. He married Ruth Martin on November 30, 1942, in Keokuk, Iowa. She died March 11, 1993. One brother, Edmond Lee Bisby, also preceded him in death.
Surviving him are one son, Robert of Colchester; and two grandchildren.
He was co-owner of Argyle Lake Marine & Automotive Repair, retiring in 1990. He also was transportation coordinator and mechanic for Colchester School District 180 for 27 years, retiring in 1983. He was a past member of Colchester Fire Department.
Graveside services were held on June 18, 1996 at Mount Auburn Cemetery. The Rev. Mark Wolford officiated.
