Coralie Bishop Durden, 88 of Jesup and Oaxaca, Mexico died Thursday, September 27, 2018 in Mexico. She was born September 24, 1930 in Seattle, Wash. to the late E. Ray and Emma Bishop.

Coralie studied nursing at Wenatchee Valley College and later at California State University in Sacramento. Coralie and her husband Tom were long time active members of Altamaha Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, WMU director, Operation Christmas Child coordinator, GA leader, served on many mission trips and was very helpful with the Altamaha Church Cemetery.. She had a close relationship with her Lord through her whole life.

She loved her family, animals, her church, and her life no matter where she lived. She also loved to laugh and had a fine sense of humor. She strived to live her life as a practicing Christian and always had a kind word for everyone she met.

Beginning in the 1960s, she began her career as RN at Wayne Memorial Hospital and later continued her career in Bellingham, Washington as Head Nurse at St. Joseph Hospital.

She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Thomas Grady Durden and her sister, Audrey Lawton.

Survivors are a daughter, Rebecca Durden Raab, her son-in-law, Anthony Raab of Oaxaca, Mexico; a son, Benjamin Durden and daughter-in-law, Amie of Boulder, Co.; her brothers, Andrew, David, Paul, Jonathan, and Joseph Bishop.
Memorial services are being held 10 AM Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Altamaha Baptist Church with Pastor Jack Lee officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Altamaha Baptist Church, 6622 Oglethorpe Road, Jesup, Ga. 31545.
