Josephine Bressler was born in Nebraska on July 7, 1924, the daughter of John Ahern and Nelle Thorndike. After growing up in Wayne, Nebraska, she found her calling in the fashion business and spent her working years in California and New York City. She was the fashion editor for Sports Illustrated and Look Magazine.
She died at New York City on November 4, 2014. Memorial services were held at the Brick Church in New York City. She was survived by her second husband, John Bressler, and her children, John and Patricia. She was also survived by two sisters, Frances and Joan.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Ann (Stevens).
