Gerry Nell Blackwell of Wrigley, KY, passed away Monday, May 31, 2010 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident, at the age of 76 years, 1 month, and 2 days.
She was born on Sunday, April 29, 1934 at Wrigley, KY, a daughter of the late Schuyler Blackwell and the late Rose M. Dixon Blackwell Combs.
Gerry Nell was a retired employee of AT&T in Columbus, OH.
In addition to her parents, Gerry Nell was preceded in death by two brothers, John Ivan Moore and Hendrix Moore; three nephews, Charles Alan Cooper, Mark Whisman, and Mike Wilson; and one niece, Terry Blackwell.
She is survived by two sisters, Martha and Noah Whisman of Grayson, Ky., and Gay Wilson of Wrigley, Ky., one brother, Dale Blackwell of Nashville, TN., eight nephews, Jonathan Whisman, Victor Whisman, Willis Clay and Pam Whisman, Paul David and Shelia Whitt, Dana and Delma Whitt, Tim Cooper, Scott Blackwell, and Eric Blackwell, several great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral service 2 p.m., Thursday, June 3, 2010, at the Potter Funeral Home, with Rev. Eugene Haney and Rev. Mike Frisby officiating. Burial to follow in the Adkins Cemetery, Wrigley, Kentucky.
Visitation from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Potter Funeral Home.
Pallbearers: Victor Whisman, Willis Clay Whisman, Jonathan Whisman, Paul David Whitt, Dana Whitt, Tim Cooper, Buddy Peyton, Brian Yeary, Tim Yeary, and Shannon Whisman.
