Dorothy Marie Belloni left this world June 23, 2009, grateful and satisfied that she led a blessed life with great family and wonderful friends.

Our mother was born September 30, 1924 to Arakel and Pauline Tologian, two young immigrants from the country of Armenia. She was a hard worker who grew up with five siblings on their land of fruit trees and vineyards. After graduating from high school, she moved to San Francisco to work for the Department of the Navy.

It was there in San Francisco, at a dance, that her life seemed to start. She met a young Fortuna man, Jim Belloni, who had been fighting in the Pacific Front. They were engaged to be married only one month later. As soon as the war was over, they married in San Francisco and moved to Humboldt County to start their life together.

They worked hard, side-by-side on their dairy ranch, and later on the beef ranch at Coffee Creek near Ferndale. The love of her life passed after fifty-one years of marriage. Twelve years later, she is with him once again. She could hardly wait.

Dorothy was known for her feisty and opinionated, but always loving personality. She was proud to be a wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother with an outstanding sense of humor that she shared with her sisters.

Dorothy is survived by her three children and their spouses: Bruce and Lee Belloni, Bill and Kathy Belloni, and Beth and Jeff Miller. She is also survived by her three sisters and their husbands: Paula and Bud Moran, Rochelle and Aushoun Andranigian, Betty Pearce and her sister-in-law Kay Belloni. Dorothy’s grandchildren and spouses include; Brad Belloni, Amanda and Will Bowman, Tami and Tommy Stewart, Chris and Shannon Rodeski, Carolyn and David Warmouth, Celinda Belloni, Christy Ludd, Amanda Hough, Dan Elliott, Brian Miller, Jonna Miller, and Erin and Chris Smead. The greatgrandchildren are Madison Belloni, Mariqus Ludd, Kalie Brown, Shelby Light, Dylan, Colby, Tristan, and Payton Rodeski and Jessica Bowman. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive Dorothy.

We invite all friends and family to a memorial service and gathering to honor our mother on Saturday, July 11 th at 10:00 am, at the Ferndale Community Church on Main Street in Ferndale. In lieu of flowers, please give to the charity of your choice.
