William was the 5th of 9 children of William H. Yerian and Sarah McBride.
He and his wife appear in the 1880 census of Courtland Township, Republic County, Kansas. He was a farmer.
They moved from Kansas to northern Oklahoma in 1894.
In 1900 through 1930 they are listed in Grant County, Oklahoma.
