Mrs. Vera Estelle Gandy
Funeral services for Mrs. Vera Estelle Gandy, 69 of Vicksburg, were held Monday, February 11, 3:00 p.m. at New Fellowship Baptist Church. The Rev. Howard Smith and the Rev. Richard Wallace officiated.
Mrs. Gandy died February 8 at Mercy Hospital in Vicksburg. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Gail Cochran, Vicksburg, Mrs. Ruth Tschabold, Marvell, Ar.; three sons, Sam Michael Gandy, Roxie, Phillip Austin Gandy, Arica, Chili, Gerald Todd, Chunky; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Zambie, Helena, Ar., Mrs. Tommie Dear, Hickory, Mrs. Lela Turveville, McComb; twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Herbert Williams, Lamar Thorne, George Williams, Gary Thorne, Leon McNeil and Louis Everett.
Interment was made in the church cemetery with Webb Funeral Home of Newton in charge of arrangements.
