Irwin Fredrick Bacon

Irwin Fredrick Bacon, age 92, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018, at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri.

Irwin was born the son of Henry Grant and Margaret Eva (Hartell) Bacon on April 11, 1926, in Kidder, Missouri. He was a 1944 graduate of Kidder High School. He served in the United States Army from 1944 until 1946, during World War II. Irwin was united in marriage to Shirley Vanlandingham on January 25, 1964, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She survives of the home. He owned and operated Bacon Sales from 1962 until 1985. Irwin then worked as a salesman for Moore Equipment, and Sydenstricker Farm and Lawn. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. He was also a member of the Vern R. Glick American Legion Post #25.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley, of the home; one son, Tom Bacon and wife Ronda of Jamesport, Missouri; one daughter, Shari Wyatt and husband Greg of McKinney, Texas; four grandchildren, Phillip Lowrey and wife Natalie of Columbia, Missouri, Casey Lowrey and wife Jennifer of McKinney, Texas, Charlie Bacon and wife Savannah of Trenton, Missouri, and Callie Bacon of Trenton, Missouri; four great grandchildren; one sister, Gladys Vetter of Portland, Oregon; niece, Zelma Cleaveland of Chillicothe, Missouri; and great niece, Nicole Booth and husband David of Chillicothe, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Luella Dowell; and niece, Lisa Lathrom.

Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, October 1, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. There is no scheduled visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, September 30, 2018, from 12 noon until 6:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Forest O. Triplett Animal Shelter and/or the First Christian Church and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
