Memorial services for Bob Gibson will begin Friday, September 21, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church, with Reverend James Lewis and Reverend James Gibson, Jr. officiating. There will be a private family interment at Stinson Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Mr. Gibson, age 77, of Meridian, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Bob worked as a computer programmer with Citizens National Bank for over 20 years and served as Vice President. He also worked at Eastover Bank, Peavey Electronics as a Data Base Manager, and with Neshoba County Schools in the Technology Department. Bob was a member of the Queen City Bridge Club, and long-time member and Deacon of Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church. Bob was a proud member of the Clarkdale community. He was the Valedictorian of the Clarkdale Class of 1959. As editor, he helped produce the first yearbook at Clarkdale, and was a long-time supporter of bulldog athletics.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Patricia (Pat) Gibson; children, Derek Gibson (LaVonda), Deiter Gibson (Joni), and Emily Gibson; grandchildren, Garrett Gibson, Landon Gibson, Erin Gibson, Brooke Gibson, Audrey Gibson, and Owen Gibson; brother, James E. Gibson, Jr. (Bettye); sister, Marilyn Linton (Bernard); and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Edward Gibson, Sr. and Eloise Slaton Gibson Harrell.
