CHARLES M BUTLER


Charles Butler Charles M. Butler of 1343 Menlo Ave. died Thursday at Queen of the Valley Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 63.


Mr. Butler was born in Sterling, on Nov. 8, 1911, and moved to Nebraska at an early age with his parents and was raised there. In 1942 he moved to California, settling in Bishop. He moved to Napa in 1965, where he worked for Basalt Rock Co. for several years. He retired in June 1972. Mr. Butler was a member of Laborers Union Local No. 371 and a former member of the Napa Moose Lodge.


Survivors include his wife, Ruth of Napa: two daughters, Mrs. Shirley King of Napa and Mrs. Sharlene Willoughby of Yountville; a brother, Louis of Eugene. three sisters, Edna Shephard of Midwest, and Eunice Butler and Mary Woods, both of Portland, four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Chapel of Richard Pierce Funeral Service with the Rev. James Groves officiating. Interment will be at Tulocay Cemetery.
