Edith N. Bergen, 89 of Columbia, Missouri, formerly of Nixon, Texas passed away on Friday, September 21, 2018.

She was born on March 12, 1929 in Corsicana, Texas. She moved to Hempstead, where she grew up on a farm and rode a horse to school if she missed the bus.

She was married to Marvel Lamar Skeide for 20 years. Then she was married to William “Bill” MaGee for nine years and lived in Austin, Texas. Then she was married to Dick Bergen for seven years. She dated Warren Lewis for 18 years and later dated Bob Borden for 5 years. She attended many events at the Retired Officer Wives’ Club at Bergstrom. She gathered everyone together for family holidays and celebrated with big meals. Grandma was a very sweet person. She enjoyed cooking, shopping and spending time with friends and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her step-daughter, Betty Stitt (Jim).

Funeral Services will take place in First United Methodist Church of Nixon, Texas at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018.

Visitation will take place at the church beginning one hour before the service.

Burial will follow at the Nixon Cemetery.
