He died Sunday, May 10, 1987 at a Mullens, West Virginia hospital of natural causes.

He was a lifelong resident of Mullens, West Virginia. He was a member of the Highland Avenue Baptist Church and a former member of the Mullens Rotary Club. He was a United States Army veteran of World War I and a retired barber.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Ada Harrah; and five brothers, Fred, Wiley, Archie, Edward and Milburn McKinney.

Survivors, his wife, Ollie White McKinney; two daughters, Beulah Kingdom and Elizabeth Lowe; a son, Russell McKinney; a sister, Hettie Rinehart; three brothers, Ralph McKinney, Velmer McKinney, and Dewey McKinney; seven grand-children; and three great-grand-children.

Funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May13, 1987 at the Highland Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Rodney Foster officiating. Burial in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity, West Virginia.
