Alice Ebb of Bristol, widow of Oscar E. Ebb, died on Saturday (September 13, 2003) at Bristol Hospital. Mrs. Ebb was born in Bristol on October 3, 1907 and was a daughter of the late Nicholas and Emma (Bartleson) Nelson. A lifelong Bristol resident, she worked at Humison's Manufacturing then Bradlee's Department Store for several years before retiring in 1972. She was an active member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Forestville, where she was a member of the Martha Circle. Mrs. Ebb's greatest love was her family, she is survived by a daughter and son in law, Evelyn E. and Warren O. Johnson of Bristol; a daughter in law, Norma Jean Ebb of Danvers, MA; eight grandchildren (and spouses), Kenneth (and Elizabeth) Johnson of Bristol, Carl (and Deborah Johnson) of Farmington, Kathryn (and Raymond Purtell) of Connecticut; Nancy (and Joseph) McNamara of Ohio, Karen (and Thomas) Hebert of Florida, Mary (and Kent) Williams of Florida, Diane (and Christopher) Paquette of Massachusetts, and Cheryl (and William) Brown of Arizona; 18 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, the Reverend Carl O. Ebb. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (September 16, 2003) at 11 AM at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Forestville Cemetery, Forestville. Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, on Monday between 4 and 7 PM.
