The fourth death as a result of an automobile accident, Sunday, January 3rd in West Monroe occurred Friday night, January 08, at 9:45 o'clock when N.A. Clinton, 38 of Clay, died of injuries at a Monroe Clinic. The death of Clinton left no survivors of the tragedy that claimed the lives of A.P. Golden, 32 of Columbia; his wife, 28; and Elmer Madden 31, of Simsboro shortly before daybreak Sunday when the automobile in which they were riding plunged into a deep drainage ditch at the dead-end of North Fourth St. near Crosley Street intersection in West Monroe. A. P. Golden, his wife and Elmer Madden died of injuries and drowning. Clinton suffered from severe shock and exposure and was considerably bruised and shaken. Funeral services for Mr. Clinton who was a member of the American Legion post and the Masonic Lodge at Ruston, were held Saturday afternoon at Clay with interment following in the cemetery at Ruston. He is survived by one son Nat II; his mother, Mrs. N.L. Clinton of Clay, three sisters, Mrs. John Paul Jones and Mrs. Kari Lowery of Simsboro, Mrs. L. E. Head of Clay and two brothers, H.P. Clinton and Bill Clinton of Clay.
