Albro Eugene Scholle, 86, of Jefferson City passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at the Heisinger Bluffs Care Center. He was born on August 13, 1922 in Boonville, Missouri; a son of the late Albro Henry and Genevieve Frances Peyton Scholle.

He was married on March 10, 1951 to Phyllis Rose Nienaber who preceded him in death; to this union, three children were born. He later remarried to Ruth Bassmann Lewis on July 28, 1973 in Jefferson City.

Albro graduated from Boonville High School. He was proud of his Eagle Scout achievement. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Albro worked for the Vital Statistics, State of Missouri Division of Health until he retired in 1982. He loved the outdoors, gardening, canning and raising chickens and show pigeons. He was on a bowling league for many years and enjoyed fishing in his earlier years.

He is survived by his loving wife: Ruth Scholle of the home; three daughters: Sherri Pedego of Tampa, Florida, Tana Hayes of Jefferson City and Cynda Schulte (Dan) of St. Louis; one step-daughter, Terri Propst (John) of Jefferson City; one step-son, Tom Lewis (Susan) of Jefferson City; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2009, at Houser-Millard Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Buchholz officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in Hawthorn Cemetery.
