Ida Lois Prideaux, age 90, of Council Bluffs, passed away on September 16, 2018, at Primrose Retirement Community.
Ida was born on November 22, 1927 to the late Mel R. and Maggie (Dewees) Johnson, in Albion, Neb. Her parents and five siblings moved to Omaha, Neb., in 1937. Ida graduated from Omaha Technical High School. She married Frank H. Prideaux Jr. on May 30, 1947. They moved to Council Bluffs in 1956. They were blessed with three children, Tamara (Frieze), Sandra (Pfeifer) and son, Mark. Ida enjoyed feeding and watching birds. She also enjoyed the challenge of crossword puzzles and number puzzles, anything to keep her mind sharp. Ida also enjoyed garage sales, collecting Depression glass and dolls, needlework and quilting. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband.
Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Frank in 2012; daughter, Tammy Freize in 1995; sisters, Marie Redmond, Claire Petersen, Peggy Hatton; brother, Tom Johnson.
Ida will be greatly missed by her daughter, Sandy and husband Rick Pfeifer, of Council Bluffs; son, Mark and wife Marcia Prideaux, of Crescent, Iowa; 4 grandchildren, Allison and Jason Salek, Alex Prideaux, AJ Prideaux, Traci Cook; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; sister, June Welty, of Lincoln, Neb.; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Graveside burial of cremated remains on Monday, 1:30 p.m., at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, with Chaplain Louisa Maas, officiating. Refreshments to follow at Walnut Hill Reception Center.
