Marilyn Richardson Shelly, 92, of the Devon House, Allentown, died September 10, 2018 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Paul A. Shelly. Marilyn was an elementary school librarian in Verona, N.J. until retiring. Prior to marriage, she was an elementary teacher in the Allentown School District. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Lehr) Richardson.
Marilyn was a graduate of William Allen High School, Moravian College and Caldwell College. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Allentown, where she had served as secretary for the board of the United Methodist Women.
Survivors: Daughter: Lynn M. Shelly wife of Lawrence M. Ellmaker of Allentown, Son: John S. Shelly and his wife Nancy of Lake Hiawatha, NJ, Daughter-In-Law: Susan E. Boyd-Shelly of Ewing, NJ, Sister: Lucille Leaman of Birmingham, AL, Grandchildren: Maia Kotrosits and Andrea Kotrosits wife of Anthony Perez and Great-Grandchildren: Rocco Russo and Meredith Perez. She was preceded in death by a son: Paul R. Shelly.
A memorial service will be held on October 6, 2018 at 11 A.M. in Asbury United Methodist Church 1533 Springhouse Road Allentown, PA 18104.
