Linda L. Armiger of Queenstown, Maryland passed away on September 13, 2018. She was 77.

Born on September 23, 1940 in York, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ervin and Della Harbold. Linda grew up in the York Pennsylvania area and after graduation from William Penn Senior High School, Class of 1958, she went on to graduate from Grove City College in Pennsylvania with her degree in teaching. After graduation she moved to Glen Burnie, Maryland to teach at Corkran Junior High in Anne Arundel County. Linda met her first husband Dennis L. Armiger where he lived across the street on Poplar Avenue and were married in 1964. They moved to Indian Hills in Arnold Maryland shortly thereafter. They had one son, Christopher B in 1969. In 1984 they moved to Goose Point in Stevensville Maryland. After her husband’s death in 1989 Linda met Robert W. Cox and they began an almost 30 year relationship and in 1995 they moved to Queenstown, MD. Linda worked in a variety of fields including Teaching, Accounting and finally as a legislative Aide for delegates from Maryland’s Eastern Shore. She remained very active in retirement where she was a member of the Kent Island Yacht Club Ladies Auxiliary and the Kent Island Garden Club where she not only volunteered but also held leadership positions in both. In Addition, she earned a certification to be a Flower Show Judge.

Some of her other activities included golf, skiing and playing duplicate bridge in several groups. She was an avid gardener and loved traveling and spending time with her friends and family.

Linda is survived by her son Christopher B. Armiger (Tracey) of Stevensville, MD; her devoted (life partner) Robert W. Cox of Queenstown, MD; brother Jim Harbold (Sally) of York, PA; niece Ellen Stubna (Harbold); and nephews David Harbold; and Michael Zittle.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 6-8 pm at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. in Chester, MD. A service will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 11 am at Safe Harbor Presbyterian Church in Stevensville, MD. Burial will follow in Stevensville Cemetery.
