Adele T. Baddick, of MaryD, passed away peacefully Saturday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, at the age of 93.

Born Sept. 10, 1924, in MaryD, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Shandrowski Novitsky. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Mary Sohysiak, Kate Trovinger, Josephine Zelinsky, Helen Novitsky, Sophie Dunn; brother, Walter Novitsky. She was the widow of Jacob J. Baddick, who died April 27, 2017.

A member of Holy Cross R.C. Church of New Philadelphia, Adele graduated from Blythe Township schools, where she played high school basketball when the rules dictated that while five players took the court, two would play offense across the center line while the remaining three stayed on the other side as defenders. Adele was an avid Phillies, Miami Dolphins and Notre Dame fan. Adele enjoyed baking and had worked at the former Tuscarora Sportsware.

She is survived by a son, Michael Baddick and his wife, Betty Brockton; grandchildren, Michael Baddick and his wife, Kathy, and Christopher Baddick and his wife, Suzie; great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Abigail, Dalton and Ryan, who affectionately called her "Old Nanny."

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 655 E. Broad St., Tamaqua. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday from Holy Cross R.C. Church, 99 Valley St., New Philadelphia, PA 17959. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Interment will be in St. Bertha R.C. Church Cemetery, Tuscarora.
