Obituary for Alpha Janell Davis
Alpha Janell Stansberry Davis, of Christoval, went to be with Lord on September 11, 2018. She was born to Mary Afton McClesky and Alfred Stansberry on August 13, 1936, in San Angelo. Her grandparents were Elizabeth and Robert Lee Stansberry who homesteaded a ranch south of Christoval on the Toe Nail Trail in 1913. The family moved to Arizona in 1948 to pursue ranching there.
Visitation will be at 9:30 AM, and the funeral service will be 10:00 AM Friday, September 14, 2018, at Christoval Baptist Church with Pastor Douglas Hurt and Pastor Mike Dixon, officiating. Graveside services will follow at the Old Christoval Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home in San Angelo.
Janell married Ernest Bailey on December 21, 1954 and they had three sons: Jim and partner Manny Chavez of Phoenix, Ed and wife Rita of Wisconsin, and Dan and wife Shawna, of Christoval. She is also survived by five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, three sisters, and numerous cousins in Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona.
The family would like to thank the nurses of Kindred Hospice and the staff of Senior Care of Meadow Creek for their patient loving care of their mother for the last two and one half years.
