J R Slater, of 245 Harriett street, died yesterday in a private hospital at the age of 76. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs J W Burke and Mrs Gertrude Leahey; a son, Armoy Slater, and a granddaughter, Mrs E W Sleigh. Funeral services will be in charge of H M Patterson & Son.

Funeral services for J R Slater, 76, of 245 Harriett street, who died Tuesday, will be held at 11 o'clock this morning at the Antioch Baptist church. The Rev W M Williams will officiate and burial will be in the churchyard under the direction of J Austin Dillon.
