MIDDLEBURG
The death of Dr. J.T. Wesley, mentioned in last Friday's issue, has cast a gloom over the community. He was a familiar figure here for nearly 30 years and was foremost in every good work. He was a man of even temper, polite to every one. He loved his profession, to which he devoted his whole life, and practiced in the poorest homes regardless of the prospects of remuneration. He was a member of the Methodist church and superintendent of his Sunday school almost continuously since the organization of the church, some 25 years ago. He took great interest in education and high ideals as to the training of youths. The funeral services took place at the Methodist church Thursday afternoon and were conducted by his pastor, Rev. W.W. Hunt, when his body was laid to rest in Middleburg cemetery. Dr. Wesley was 69 years old and had been a practicing physician for 48 years. His wife and three children are left to mourn his loss.
