McConnellsburg, Pa. -- FRED S. (Mut) FISHER, 83, of 130 W. Walnut St., died Monday at the Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg. Born in Clear Spring, Md., he was the son of Winfield S. and Sarah Stuckey Fisher. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hope Raker Fisher.

He served as a Pennsylvania Game Protector in Fulton, Union and Susquehanna counties for 18 years. He was the sheriff of Fulton County from 1960 to 1968. He was a veteran of WWI. He was a member of the American Legion Post in McConnellsburg for 61 years, and was also a member of the Pennsylvania Sheriff's State Association and the McConnellsburg Volunteer Fire Co.

He is survived by one daughter, Frederica Stenger, McConnellsburg; four sons, W. Scott Fisher, Houstontown; Benjamin W. Fisher, Chambersburg; Sidney R. Fisher, Carlisle; and Robert A. Fisher, McConnellsburg; two sisters, Rose Brigham, Chambersburg; and Mary Akers, McConnellsburg; and 10 grandchildren.

Services were held at the John J. Kelso Funeral Home, McConnellsburg. Burial in Union Cemetery.
