John Arbuckle, 80, a resident of Cashmere for the past 44 years, died Wednesday evening, July 1, in the Cashmere Nursing Home. He was born March 18, 1901, in Edgar County, III., and came to Cashmere In 1937. Mr. Arbuckle served In the U.S. Army in World War II and married Avis Barnes, March 12, 1944, in Sunnyslde.
He was a painter by trade and worked in Alaska before returning to Cashmere in 1950. Survivors Include his wife, at the home; two sisters, Mrs. Victor Jones, Paris, III., and Mrs.Fred Schultz, Belialre, Texas; three brothers, Sam W. and Roscoe "Bud", both of Paris, III., and Clifford of Indianapolis, Ind. Braun Funeral Home, Cashmere were in charge of arrangements. Graveside services were held Friday afternoon at the Cashmere Cemetery with Rev. Larry Williams officiating.
