Professional Baseball Player. Starting in the minor leagues he quickly gained popularity with his speed and defensive plays. He made his major league baseball debut April 17, 1908 with the Boston Red Sox as a 2nd baseman. He and Harry Lord were traded to the White Sox on August 9, 1910 for Frank Smith and Billy Purtell. After leaving the major league in 1911, he continued to play professionally as an owner and field manager in several minor league teams until a line drive hit to the head sidelined him for a year in 1923.
