Helen Strand
June 10, 1920 - August 24, 2018
Helen was born in Butte Montana on June 10th, 1920. Her parents were Rudy and Lucille Endresse. Her father was a painting contractor. In 1938 Lloyd Strand came to Butte looking for work, finding a job with Rudy. Yes, in August of 1939 he married the boss's daughter.
Helen and Lloyd had daughter Linda in 1942. The young family moved to San Pedro, CA. where Lloyd worked in the shipyards to help with the war effort. They then moved to Oregon, settling in Springfield on 54th street.
In 1946 son Russell joined the family. Then in 1948 Lloyd started the family's painting business. That business is still going strong under grandson David Strand's leadership.
Lloyd passed away in August 2009 just a few days after their 69th wedding anniversary. Helen was also preceded in death by daughter Linda Strand, and brother Robert Endresse of Butte. She is survived by son Russ (Linda), grandson David Strand (Jamie), granddaughter Kelli Strand Ngariki (Fuji); and the four great grandchildren, Gabriel and Tamarua Ngariki, Joey and Alana Strand. Also, sister Sharon Loomis (Lee) of Camus, WA.
Helen will be fondly remembered by everyone who knew her. She was a true inspiration in her joyful attitude and servants heart. Most people know that she put her faith in Christ and lived her belief daily. She was patient, loving, joyful and a friend to everyone she met.
Please join us for a memorial service held at Camp Creek Church (37529 Upper Camp Creek Rd.) on Saturday, September 29 at 2:00pm. Refreshments will be served immediately following in the fellowship hall. We would enjoy sharing and hearing memories of Helen.
