They made their home on a farm in rural Argusville, where they farmed for many years. Along with helping on the farm, she also worked at Canary Fashions in Moorhead and Krismar in Fargo. Marlys then went to work for Utopia Tours and Judy’s Leisure Tours, and she truly enjoyed her time as a tour guide. She later worked in the kitchen as a cook for Northern Cass School.
Marlys and Morris were members of Nora Lutheran Church and mowed the cemetery for many years. She also served as a 4-H Leader for twenty-five years.
She really loved music and dancing, and, for over 40 years along with her husband, Morris, played with Nedrebo’s, where she sang and played organ.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Morris; daughters, Maureen (Wayne) Bjerke, Argusville, and Loree (Ron) Fettig, Killdeer, ND; grandchildren, Brad (Errin) Bjerke, Argusville, Brian (Jennie) Bjerke, Hawley, MN, Bryce (Kristina) Bjerke, Lake Park, MN, Aleaha Fettig, Aberdeen, SD, and Abby (Jason) Wald, Berlin, ND; great-grandchildren, Zachary (Liz) Bjerke, Annika, Loki, Dawson, Bridger, Beau and Barrett Bjerke, Toni, Tana, and Ty Wald; and great-great-grandson, Anders Bjerke.
She was preceded in death by her parents
