Bill was born Oct. 4, 1925, in Moline, to William T. and Fern English Aitken. He married Loraine Bardohl in 1960, in Rock Island.
Bill was a maintenance engineer for 28 years at John Deere Plow Planter, Moline. He was a World War II Army veteran.
He was a member of Elim Covenant Church, Moline.
He enjoyed fishing at the Hennepin Canal and camping at Melody Meadows. He also had coached Little League.
He is survived by son, Donald W. Aitken; two grandchildren; and brother, Richard Aitken. He was preceded in death by his wife; sister, Judith; and brother, Jerry.
