Robert L. Hurd went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 7th at the age of 89, after an extended illness. He was born March 26th, 1929 in Warren Ohio to Emerson and Ethel Hurd, the youngest of 6 children., then worked as a laborer for Youngstown Sheet and Tube, A line worker at Mullins Manufacturing, and a stockroom expediter at Ajax Magnethermic, all in Ohio. In June 1955 he married Naoma Cole in Warren, Ohio, and raised a family. Naoma passed away in 2005 after having been ill for over a decade, and he moved to the Cheyenne area to be near his son.

On June 2nd, 2007 he married Elaine Ellerbeck of Cheyenne. He was a member of the North Christian Church. He loved fishing, family, and sharing the stories of his life with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine, his son Emery Hurd of Cheyenne, Elaine’s sons Dennis Ellerbeck of Ashville, OH, Darrel Ellerbeck of Sergeants Bluff, Iowa, Brian Ellerbeck of Richmond, Texas, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
