Adrian Wesley "Pete" Bertling, 69, passed away Friday, September 7, 2018, at North Mississippi Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born in Austin, Texas December 21, 1948, to Adrian Wesley and Altha Boatwright Bertling. He grew up in Pasadena, Texas where he served as a Mason and was active in the Shriners Organization. He had been a resident of New Albany since 2005. During the Vietnam War, he served his country in the United States Army. After 28 years of service as a supervisor, he retired from Phillips Petroleum in Pasadena in 1999. He was also an avid reader.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Marsha Sullivan of New Albany; one son, James Wesley Bertling and his wife, Melinda of Dayton, Texas; one daughter, Melissa Ramsell of Pasadena; one step-daughter, Mauri Jordan and her husband, Mark of Myrtle; one sister, Jeanette Milburn of Clear Lake City, Texas; seven grandchildren, Christopher Bertling, Carina Ramsell, Ethan Ramsell, Emily Ramsell, Brooke Franks, Josh Hodges and Fischer Jordan; one great-grandchild, Brandon Meador, Jr.; and his mother-in-law, Annette Sullivan of New Albany.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Honoring Pete's wishes, there will be no formal services.
