AN AND WIFE DEAD IN AUTO
Couple, Broke, Take Lives With Gas . Fumes. By Associated Press.
ABERDEEN, Wash., Dec. 18.-- The bodies of a man and woman, believed to be married, were found in a lonely spot on the Olympic Peninsula today by a group of 'mountain hikers. , The couple, Identified by driver's licenses as Millard Harrison, 48, and Leona Harrison, 30, both of Seattle, were found in an automobile which had been driven into a clump of bushes. A hose was connected from the exhaust pipe to the front seat of the automobile.
A note found in the automobile read: "To whom it may concern: "This was done for financial rea- sons. There is no one to notify. Cremation desired. Trust this will be done. "MILLARD HARRISON."
Sheriff's Deputy Joseph Cartel' said, "It is apparently a ease of double suicide."
The bodies were found near a side road leading off the Lone mountain road by W. H. Mathias, secretary of the Hoquiam Chamber of Commerce, who was on a trip to Lone mountain with the Olympians, civic group.
At Seattle, Mr. and Mrs. Davidto Murphy, with whom the dead couple roomed several weeks ago, said the couple planned to move to Port Angeles, where they said relatives lived. Harrison was a roofing contractor.
Deputy Cartel' said, "There wasn't a cent of money found on the bodies."
