ALLASTOWN Joyce L. (Russell) Baker, 78, formerly of Glen Rock, entered into rest peacefully at 1:50 a.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2007 after a lengthy illness at Manor Care Dallastown. She was the wife of the late Irvin J. Baker, who entered into rest on March 7, 2007 and to whom she was married on August 15, 1946. The couple celebrated more than 60 years together. She was born in Baltimore, Md. on October 24, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Sue Adaline (Riley) Russell of Severna Park, Md. Mrs. Baker was head cashier at the City Chevrolet in Baltimore, Md. and also worked at the Twin Kiss Ice Cream Shop in Taneytown, Md. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, playing cards and she especially loved bingo. She is survived by three daughters, Brenda L. Naff of Felton and husband Bill, Pamela M. Schuk of Baltimore, Md. and husband Mike and Yourtha M. Delp of Felton and husband Jim; two sons, Charles I. Baker of Georgia and Keith R. Baker of Brogue and wife Judy; numerous Grandchildren and Greatgrandchildren; three sisters, Charlotte Cosner of Pasadena Md. and husband Charles, Barbara Bezanson of Waterbury, Conn. and husband Donald and Dot Ballard of Tallahassee, Fla. She was preceded in death by a son, Steven W. Baker. There will be no viewing. Cremation will take place with Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A visitation will be held Wednesday from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Margaret M. Smith, Chaplain of Heartland Hospice officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Gamber, Md. at the convenience of the family.
