Graveside Services for Melvin Whitaker, 86, Clinton resident will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, November 30, 2017, in the Clinton Cemetery, and under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.

Melvin Whitaker was born June 3, 1931 to Jessie and Della (Langley) Whitaker in Glencoe, Oklahoma, and passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2017 in Oklahoma City.

Melvin was raised and attended school in the Glencoe area continuing his education at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. He married Naomi Lesher on December 28, 1950 in Meramec, OK. Melvin and his family moved in 1954, making their home in Clinton. He was Co-Owner of Linn Manufacturing in Clinton for several years before retiring.

Soon after his retirement Melvin and Naomi enjoyed traveling.

He enjoyed fishing, raising chickens and raising Herford Cattle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Naomi, and son Tony Whitaker.

Melvin is survived by his daughter, Melva Snider, Corn; and his son, Terry Whitaker, Clinton.

He is also survived by five grandchildren, Sara Snider, Kari Roop, Luke Snider, Michael Whitaker, Alicia Whitaker, and five great grandchildren, Dominic Whitaker, James Snider, Katelyn Snider, Landen Roop, and Mattison Roop.
