Mrs. Mooneyham died on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born August 20, 1925, in Morgan County to Louis Monroe Chaffin and Mamie Smith Chaffin. Mrs. Mooneyham became a Christian at an early age and was devoted to God until the very end. She was a member of Union Church of Christ. After graduating from Eva High School in 1944, she worked in Washington DC, for the FBI. She also attended the Teacher's College in Florence and taught school and met and married her husband and began raising a family. She devoted the rest of her life to her children and grandchildren who would rise up and call her blessed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Mooneyham; her parents; two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include one son, David Mooneyham (Lynn); four daughters, Carolyn Henson (Jimmy), Kathy Earwood (Tommy), Betty Ryan (Ron) and Billie Bennett (Wayne); three brothers, Sherrill Chaffin, Spencer Chaffin and Larry Chaffin; fifteen grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Eric Earwood, Cory Henson, Reggie Ryan, Grant Bennett, Matthew Mooneyham and Brett Mooneyham.
