Originally buried in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Pleasant Valley (Valley City) , Iowa south of four grandchildren by son Roswell Hopkins Spencer, founder of Pleasant Valley, Iowa, and Roswell's wife Martha Ann Henley Spencer. Moved and reinterred in Chippiannock Cemetery (founded 1855) Rock Island, Illinois on May 22, 1874 on the lot of another son, Judge John Winchell Spencer. A memorial stone was erected for Calvin and second wife Zeruah at the second grave location.
