Laura Bennett passed away peacefully on August 31, 2018 in Burlington, WA.

Laura was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on October 19, 1919 to Hector and Laura (Roubillard) Lagasse. She grew up in Bellingham and graduated from Bellingham High School in 1939.

While working as a beautician at The Leopold she met her husband to be, Bill Bennett, who was a bellhop at the time. She continued her beauty work from home while she raised all four daughters. Laura was a Camp Fire Leader for many years, a member of the Emblem Club (named Club woman of the year in 1991), and was also involved in the Sewing Club, Pinochle Club, and Lunch Club.

Laura was a party girl, she loved entertaining, cooking, canning, and setting a beautiful table. She was also a lover of roses. Family traditions included French Canadian Meat Pie for Christmas morning and her "Chewy Stuff".

She is preceded in death by her parents, eleven siblings, husband William Bennett, and daughter Brenda Bennett. Survivors include her sister Beatrice Galey, daughters Bonnie (Rick) Lamont, Bernida (Jerry) Flynn, and Becky (Jerry) Parker, 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Laura's family would like to thank the staff at Prestige Care and Rehab in Burlington for their loving care and support over the years. Memorial donations may be made in Laura's name to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

A graveside service will take place on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 12pm at Greenacres Memorial Park (5700 NW Dr. Ferndale, WA 98248). A "Celebration of Life" will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 2pm at Birch Bay Bible Community Church (4460 Bay Rd, Blaine, WA 98230).
