Dennis D. Allington, age 73 of Wymore passed away on September 4, 2018. He was born in Beatrice on August 30, 1945 to Duane and Ruby (Retchless) Allington. He attended country school at Maple Grove, Beatrice High School, and later earned his GED. On November 12, 1966, Dennis married Sharon Kay Wright. Dennis worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for 30 years and was a farmer for over 50 years. He was a member of the Sicily Township Board; Blue Springs Rural Fire Board; and the Beatrice Youth Wrestling Board. He enjoyed deer and coyote hunting, watching Sprint Car Racing and NASCAR, bird watching and listening to 50s Rock and Roll Music.
Survivors include his sons, David Allington, Darren Allington and wife Jennifer, and Jason Allington and wife Dyan; grandchildren, Jac, Parker, Preston, Jaidyn, Kaiden, Kynley, Kasen, and Kylie; and a host of extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay; his parents; half-brother, Norman Allington; and parents-in-law, Melvin Harold “Jack” & Ruby Wright.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, Septemer 8, 2018 at the Blue Springs Cemetery with Jon Palmquist officiating. A closed casket visitation will take place on Friday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore with the family greeting relatives and friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
