The community was shocked Saturday morning on learning that Mrs. Albert C. Buell had passed away. She was ill three days with pneumonia. Mrs. Buell was able to be about the village Monday and many did not know that she was sick. She would have been 60 years old if she had lived until Dec. 24. Her maiden name was Abbie B. Boyd, and she was the youngest child of Stephen and Susan Boyd. Her marriage to Mr. Buell took place July 3, 1873. Besides her husband she leaves a brother, Charles F. Boyd, a lawyer in Fulton, N. Y., and a sister, Mrs. Titus Stow Bishop of Readsboro. Rev. Flint M. Bissell officiated at the funeral, which was largely attended in the home on Maple street Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial took place in Riverview cemetery, The bearers were Herbert Fox, Henry Mann, Perry Davis and O. O. Ware. Mrs. Buell was a member of the Universalist church and a willing worker in the church and society. Mrs. Buell was a woman of singularly winning traits, possessing not only those elements which touched by reason of their amiability but were enhanced by her strength of character and a personality of her own. She was gracious, kindly and considerate. Thoroughly good herself, she saw only the good in others. She loved the beautiful in nature and loved the horses and domestic animals.
