Born in Aiken County on December 26, 1935 he was the son of the late John B. & Maggie Jordan Ergle. Rev. Ergle was a graduate of North Greenville College, Furman University and Southeastern Theological Seminary in Wake Forrest, N.C. Rev. Ergle had pastored full time and bi-vocational churches for over 50 years in South Carolina & North Carolina. He loved preaching, camping, fishing & propping. Rev. Ergle was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters and their spouses: Ramona E. (Jamie) Bertram of Dillon, S.C. and Stephanie E. (Chris) Krebs of Aiken; a brother, Steve. C. (Jane) Ergle of Aiken, and one grandson, Channing T. Ergle of Dillon.
Graveside services will be conducted in Aiken Memorial Gardens with Dr. Chris Masters officiating.
