MARGARET ELLEN (BISHOP) BAUER, 90, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018. Margaret was born Aug. 14, 1928, in southern Illinois and married Carl S. Bauer Aug. 16, 1946. Margaret and Carl moved to Fort Wayne in 1947, where their three children, Cheryl, Dean and Todd were born. She served as Cub Scout and Brownie leaders for her children, and was employed by Kelly Services and Hagerman Construction, before retiring in 1990. Margaret and Carl spent 18 winters fishing and enjoying life in Lake Okeechobee, Fla., before returning to Fort Wayne year round in 2006. She enjoyed researching her family tree, quilting and cooking for her family. Surviving are her children, Cheryl (Barry) Harrison of Traverse City, Mich., Carl Dean (Alison) Bauer and Todd (Teresa) Bauer of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Amy (Guillermo) Batista, Todd (Jessica) Harrison, Christopher (Amber) Bauer, Mitchell (Juliana) Bauer, Trista Bauer and Trina (Jeff) Bahnsen; great-grandchildren, Alana and Grant Batista, Leah and Paul Bauer, Henry and Bennett Bauer and Aden Bahnsen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl S. Bauer in 2009. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 420 West Wayne Street, Fort Wayne, (IN 46802), with calling two hours prior. Interment will be in Lindenwood Cemetery at a later date.
