Carlnville, Ill., Dec. 9. - Failing to awaken his father, a son of Robert Archibald, with whom he had slept during the night at their home in Greenridge, was horrified to find him dead. Apparently he had been dead several hours.

Archibald worked yesterday as usual. His son, a miner, returned from his duties last night. When he retired, the father evidently was in good health.

He is survived by a widow and several grown children.

Coroner D.H. Kearns conducted an inquest over the remains. The jury returned a verdict of death from natural causes. Death is supposed to have resulted from heart failure.

The remains will be interred in Girard. [editor note: Burial was in Virden or moved to Virden?]
