Vearl J. Manwill Dies in Salt Lake
  Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 4, for Vearl James Manwill, 65, of Salt Lake City. Mr. Manwill is known in this area as the man who on August 13, 1921, discovered the most spectacular part of the well-known Timpanogos Cave. He died of cancer Sunday, May 1, at his home. He was one of the organizers of the Wasatch Hiking Club.
  He was born Nov. 15, 1900, in Payson, a son of John Vernon and Elizabeth Keele Manwill. On July 16, 1924, he married Melissa Green in the Logan LDS Temple.
  Survivors include his widow and the following sons and daughters: James V., Paul E., Mrs. Gordon R. (Carma) Coulam, all of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Robert M. (Bonnie) Summers, Soda Springs, Idaho; Mrs. Robert J. (Luana) Pearson, Curpertino, California; 15 grandchildren; brother and sisters; Glade B., Mrs. Frank (Mildred) Booth, both of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Dell (Edith) White, Orem; Mrs. Stanley (Irene) Cahoon, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Mrs. Mont (Florence) Robertson, Springville; Mrs. Allen (Betty) Taylor, Victorville, Calif.
  Funeral services were conducted in the Parley's Sixth LDS Ward Chapel.
